Access NCCU Libraries
Q1: How can I access NCCU Libraries?
- The Library primarily serves NCCU faculty, staff, and students. They may access the library using their faculty/staff ID cards or student ID cards. NCCU members without a valid ID will be considered external visitors for admission.
- NCCU alumni may access the library using their alumni ID cards (alumni ID cards can be applied for at the NCCU Alumni Service Center.) NCCU retired staff may access the library using their retirement ID cards.
- NCCU Libraries cardholders may access the library using a valid library card. Chip-enabled library cards may be used for card access; non-chip library cards must be presented for verification before entry.
- University System of Taiwan (UST) full-time faculty, staff, and students (excluding exchange students and students on leave of absence) may access the library using their home institution ID card three working days after completing and signing the Statement of Patron's Privileges for the UST Libraries.
- A limited number of One-Day Visitor Cards are available daily to external visitors who register and exchange a valid photo ID for a One-Day Visitor Card at the service desk.
- Misuse of ID cards, library cards, or credentials—including impersonation, forgery or alteration, using cloned/duplicated IDs or unauthorized RFID/NFC devices (e.g., blank cards, smartwatches, mobile phones, key fobs, NFC tags), lending or borrowing cards or credentials, or entering without valid identification—constitutes a violation and will be handled in accordance with the "Guidelines for Dealing with Violations of the Rules."
Q2: How can external visitors apply for a One-Day Visitor Card to access NCCU Libraries?
- Visitors aged 18 or older may register in the NCCU Libraries Visitor Registration System and apply for a One-Day Visitor Card for accessing the library by presenting a valid photo ID, such as a national ID card, university student ID, driver's license, National Health Insurance card (with photo), passport, or Alien Resident Certificate (ARC). (This does not apply to the B1 Reading Room at the Main Library or the Lakeside Reading House at the Dah-Hsian Seetoo Library.)
- Visitors must keep the One-Day Visitor Card properly. If it is lost, a replacement fee of NT$200 will be charged.
- The One-Day Visitor Card issued by each library location may be used only at that location and must be returned before closing on the same day. Visitors who fail to return the card on time shall be suspended from accessing the library for a period of three months.
- The Library reserves the right to limit the number of external visitors accessing the library when necessary to ensure that NCCU members' access rights are not adversely affected.
- For details, please refer to the "Service Regulations for Off-Campus Patrons."
