Why am I suddenly unable to access electronic resources off-campus?

To safeguard the security of our electronic resources and protect the rights of all university users, the Library's off-campus access system is equipped with an anomaly monitoring mechanism. If unusual connection activity or usage behavior is detected, access privileges for the affected account may be temporarily suspended.

Why am I suddenly unable to access electronic resources off-campus?

Common Triggers for System Monitoring

  • Downloading large volumes of full-text materials or downloading continuously within a short period.
  • Generating an abnormally large volume of data traffic in a short time.
  • Frequent changes in the connection IP address for the same account.
  • Login records from different countries or regions associated with the same account within a short timeframe.
  • Repeatedly triggering the system's security mechanisms within a specific period.

Suspension & Access Restoration

  • General Cases: Access will be automatically restored 1 hour after suspension. You may attempt to reconnect once this period has passed.
  • Severe or Repeated Violations: In cases of serious or repeated anomalies, the account will be subject to permanent suspension. Please contact the Library for assistance (Tel: 8237-7066 / Email: libnews@nccu.edu.tw).

Important Reminders

  • Do not use automated download software, web crawlers, or batch retrieval tools.
  • Avoid frequently switching between different network environments (e.g., Wi-Fi, mobile networks, VPNs) during your session to prevent triggering system blocks due to rapid IP changes.
